Fall fishing is starting to kick in on Devils Lake. We have been catching fish trolling crankbaits behind lead core on the flooded road beds and deeper contours that have rock. The bridges are starting to produce better fish as well. Main lake reefs and points that have rock are also holding fish for anglers jigging. Average depths lately seem to be 16-22 feet of water.

Many are asking about fall waterfowl. We had a dry spring and summer but have received some rain lately so some of the shallow sloughs have water again. Most of the small grains are combined and we are seeing some good duck numbers. Early season hunters have also been doing well on Canada geese so far. Should be a good waterfowl season.
