Devils Lake Fishing Report December 27

Ice conditions on Devils Lake are shaping up good. We will probably see full sized vehicles on the ice soon in some places. We are seeing 9 to 6 inches of ice depending on the location. We have been driving UTVs ATVs and snowmobiles on the ice. Good walleye bites have been happening up on the feeder lakes like Irvine and Alice in 3 to 5 feet of water. Good perch bites have been happening on the Main Lake and East Bay. Perch seem to be coming from 20 to 32 feet of water depending on the location. Transition areas off the basin seem to be producing perch. We have been having success with small tungsten jigs or spoons with a dropper for the perch. We are tipping with wax worms, spikes or a minnow head. Walleyes have been coming on dead sticks with minnows or jigging lures like rattle spoons or Tikka Minos. We are tipping the spoons and glide baits with a minnow head to catch walleye.
